British Junior Champions 2002-2004

Season
2003 - 2004
This
season brought Gold
for the team at the British Qualifer at the National
Ice Centre, Nottingham. The team is skating to
Elvis for the short and a classical piece for
the long.The British Championships was held on
the 18th January at the National Ice Centre, the
team won the British Championships for the 3rd
time!!!!!
Then
the team was off to compete in the French Cup,
Rouen. They skated well and began training for
the World Challenge Cup for Juniors. The JWCC
was held in Milan, Italy, the team skated very
well indeed to achieve a 16th placement. Overall
they won their warm up group and were was pleased
with their progress.
This
teams has now stopped, to focus on the senior
team,. Storm.

Season
2002 - 2003
The
new season saw the team competing in the British
Qualifer in Nottingham, they came 1st. After the
Christmas holidays of 2002 came the British Championships
at Lee Valley on the 26th January 2003. The team
also won this event for the second year in a row.
Then
they competed in the Neuchatel Trophey 2003. The
team did brillantly well and came 3rd!! And the
final and most important competition of this year
was the World Challenge Cup for Juniors, Kungsbacka
Sweden. The team in the short, came 18th of 19
teams, but skated clear. And in the long programme
they pulled up two places and finished 16th!!!

Season
2001 - 2002
The
team was asked to do an ISU training camp in Swindon
in September 2001, with Anu Jaaskelainen.Then
they were off to compete in the British Qualifer
at Nottingham, were they came 2nd. The team also
did an exihibition at the British Figure Skating
Championships 2001. After the Christmas and New
Year break, the team took part in the second British
Qualifer at Nottingham again and came 1st!!! for
the first time!!!
After
the overall high performance, the team got the
chance to compete in two international competitions.
The first was the French Cup 2002, were they came
11th. Next was the Neuchatel Trophey 2002, were
they came 4th. And the final competition of the
year, the British Championships 2002 at Soihull.
The team came 1st!!! and became British Champions
for the first time!

Season
2000 - 2001
Ice
Illusions are the Junior team at Basingstoke.
They best achievement todate is getting a 4th
place at the British Championships in 1999 and
a very successful Basingstoke opens when they
came 2nd. But since an ISU Training camp in Budapest,
Hungary in August 2000, were they learnt many
new skills of the sport, the team have progressed
in leaps and bounds.
In
January 2001, the team competed in the Lee Valley
opens were they came 4th and at this competition
they got asked to compete in an ISU International.
The International that the team decided to do
was 'The Spring Cup' Milan, Italy in Febuary 2001.
They came a very creditable 7th out of 9 teams
competing. The team also competed at an International
ISU competition in Lee Valley, London. They came
2nd in the short and 3rd behind two Canadian teams.
And to the top result of the year, They came 2nd
in the British Championships.
